Beginner level, age minimum 8 years
Intermediate level, age minimum 7 years. Students are expected to know how to play introductory varsais in different ragams and talams with gamakams. They will learn varnams and simple kritis to apply these gamakams.
Advanced level, no age restriction. The complexity of compositions will increase and basic forms of improvisation will be taught.
Please note that depending on requests received, I will entertain Intermediate and Advanced students first and then tend to Beginners based on availability.
Online classes also will be based on availability.

Practice is the only way to improve over the long term. A commitment to practice a minimum of 4 times a week.
Before class allotment, the teacher will assess the students and place them in the appropriate class.
Aarti Shankar is a distinguished Carnatic violinist and a devoted disciple of Sangita Kalanidhi Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. She had the rare privilege of learning under the legendary violinist Padma Bhushan Lalgudi G Jayaraman for a brief yet formative period.
Kirthi is currently a senior at LASA High School. She has been learning the violin for 13 years, under the guidance of Sri Manu Narayanan. Kirthi has accompanied various artists on the violin at concerts and arangetrams.
