Rekha was captivated by the warm, evocative tones of the piano early in life. She started formal lessons at age 6 and has performed, as well as accompanied numerous groups since then. On acquiring advanced level certifications in Piano Performance and Theory, Trinity College of Music London, she began teaching in Bangalore.
More recently, she has been teaching in Austin and has prepared students to perform at talent shows and various social events.
Her enjoyment of music, combined with her ability to play by ear, allows her to adapt lessons to suit students of various ages, abilities, and interests. Also, she is able to teach students popular Western music or favorite tunes to complement lessons. This encourages and motivates students.
